Want Perfect Wedding Day Feet? 4 Things You Probably Didn’t Think About

iStock_000017522638_Full SMALLERIt’s arguably one of the most important days of your life: your wedding day.  For many women, they have painstakingly planned every detail and moment of the ceremony and reception. But many brides-to-be didn’t even consider foot pain to be a factor on their wedding day, which potentially could put you in a sour mood when it’s supposed to be the “happiest day of your life.” Perfect wedding day feet take a little planning.

While a pedicure may be at the top of your list, along with those pricey Manolo Blahniks and Louboutins you picked out to wear with your dress, you probably need to consider these tips to help keep you and your feet happy on your big day.

  • Correcting Present Foot Pain: If heel pain or bunions have already made an unwelcome appearance, even long before you became engaged, now is a better time than ever to finally put an end to your suffering. The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is recurring pain due to plantar fasciitis or bunions. Plus, those designer shoes you’ve had your eye on may not feel so great with these conditions.
  • Have a ‘Foot Emergency’ Kit: Blisters happen, especially when you’re wearing shoes for the first time for hours on end. Chances are you have kept your wedding shoes in their box since purchasing them (with the exception of dress fittings) to ensure they are in pristine condition on your wedding day. This also means they haven’t been broken in and can leave blisters and scrapes on your feet within minutes. Make sure to bring band aids and ointments, as well as any insert padding, to ensure your tears of joy won’t turn into tears of pain.
  • Pre-Wedding Shoes: On the morning of your wedding day, you’ll be on your feet more than you think you will. Between hair and nail appointments and running around to make sure everything is absolutely perfect, your feet will receive a beating before you ever make it down the aisle. Make sure to invest in some comfortable slippers or shoes to keep your feet from aching before the festivities start!
  • Reception Shoes: Sky-high stilettos are simply not made for the dance floor. If you want to be able to dance and enjoy yourself all night, investing in some flats for the reception is a great idea. Plus, your feet will thank you!

Don’t let foot pain ruin your wedding day. Plan ahead and put your health above comfort. You’ll be honeymooning pain-free if you do!
